If like me you value your downtime and want to cherish every moment of it, and you happen to be a big fan of sleep, then check out This Works. The brand has plenty of sleep-aiding essentials, but its Deep Sleep Night Ritual is a two-step process that I cannot live without. First is the pillow spray — a blend of essential oils and calming lavender, vetivert and camomile that come together to relax nerves, reduce anxiety and enhance sleep quality. Then there’s the breathe-in roll-on, which is best applied to your temples and pulse points such as your inner wrist to further soothe you and encourage a peaceful night’s sleep.

URPOWER 300ml Aroma Essential Oil Diffuser
By: Emily Jensen
I'm lucky to live in one of New York's pre-war apartment buildings, meaning I have high ceilings and sturdy walls. Unfortunately, it also means I can't control my heat, which is often set to inferno levels. If it weren't for this little diffuser, I would have shriveled up like a dried fish by now. Though primarily marketed as an aromatizer, it holds enough water to last for eight hours and functions just as well as a humidifier. Along with a few drops of essential oils (I like these from Muji), it's a necessity for keeping me relaxed and not looking like a SpongeBob meme come to life.

Saje Tranquility Relaxing Face & Body Mist
By: Nia Groce
Saje’s products have a soothing, refreshing quality about them that had me hooked from the first time I tried them. The brand’s face and body mists have been a welcome addition to my skincare routine, as they leave a calming and fragrant ambiance every time I spray them. Subtle notes of lavender, orange and marjoram top off the tranquil mood.

Philips SmartSleep Sleep and Wake Up Light Therapy Lamp
By: Felson Sajonas
What I like about Philips’ SmartSleep is not only does it provide relaxation before falling asleep, it also eases you into waking up. Our clock or phone alarms are often set to jarring bell or ringing sounds which can already cause a bad start to the day. The lamp’s light-guided, wind-down breathing promotes better air circulation while the customizable sunset and sunrise stimulation assures smoother rest day in and day out. Would highly recommend this to anyone having trouble with their current sleep cycles.

Tekla Fabrics Bedding
By: Jack Stanley
Copenhagen-based Tekla is known for its understated and sustainable homeware pieces, with a focus on the importance of natural fabrics. The brand’s organic cotton percale bedding is one of its core products. The bedding is made from high-quality, long cotton fibers, which are woven together to make it resistant, durable and — most importantly — comfortable. They’re available in a number of solid colors, ranging from “Sun Bleached Yellow” to “Ocra Brown,” but for me, the stand-out design is the Anholt Stripes pattern. All of the colors are also finished with a light stonewash, which creates a matte finish while also helping to produce a soft and crisp skin feeling.

With all the important health habits in our lives such as diet and exercise, sleep may be one that’s often ignored or overlooked. It’s medically proven that sleep inconsistencies, or just a lack of it, can cause stress and frequent mood shifts. Results can even be more dire turning into depression and high anxiety, and in these times of uncertainty with the current coronavirus pandemic affecting everyone, added stressors could lead some to a deadlier path.
Better sleep, meanwhile, means more oxygen to our muscles and improved blood flow everywhere else, especially in our brains. However, getting adequate shuteye is a lot tougher than it sounds for some. This could be due to work schedules, television habits, phone and tablet screen times or just a lifestyle choice where sleep is just entirely ignored. As most of us are now forced to stay indoors because of Covid-19, it could be a good idea to improve on sleep. New routines are hard to adjust to so having some sort of help can help you in the right direction
For this edition of HYPEBEAST Editors’ picks, we sorted out some products that could aid you in your quest for better rest. Some are items you might have not known existed for sleep, while some could be familiar but could be your chance now to give them a try. Take a look at our choices below.

For me, a key component of getting a good night’s sleep or refreshing nap is a good blanket. However, getting the right blanket in the spring can be a little tricky — with the temperature intermittently rising and falling, it’s easy to overheat or get chilly. Enter Polo’s Pink Pony Throw Blanket. It’s big enough to toss on your bed for a night’s sleep, but portable enough to carry to the couch for a midday nap and thick enough to keep you at a comfy temperature. Plus, any ‘Lo head is sure to love the giant pink logo on the front. There’s a charitable aspect too: 25% of the purchase price goes to Polo’s Pink Pony Fund, which supports a wide network of cancer charities.

Environments Album Series
By: Clara Malley
Transport yourself to a country stream, a wood masted sailboat, or the thick of a “psychologically ultimate thunderstorm” with Environments. Masterminded by Irv Teibel, a sound recordist turned amateur psychologist, the ’70s cult classic album series is an absolute balm for battered nerves — not to mention a much better alternative to cranking up a fan to drown out street noise. You can stream the two-track albums wherever you like to get your music or find remastered editions of all 22 original recordings through the Environments app, which includes bonus information on the tracks and streamlined playing and queuing options.
Where to buy: Available to stream on Spotify, and through the Environments app for iOS and Android for $2.99 USD
